Kohima: The Nagaland government has introduced the Nagaland Digital Agriculture Ecosystem, an AI powered platform aimed at improving farming services, market access, and decision making for farmers across the state.
The platform, officially called the Unified Digital Agriculture Ecosystem (UDAE), was launched by Agriculture Advisor Mhathung Yanthan at the Directorate of Agriculture in Kohima. The initiative brings together digital technologies and artificial intelligence to make agricultural information and government services easier for farmers to access.
Kheti Manu to Provide AI Based Farm Advice
A key feature of the platform is Kheti Manu, an AI powered digital assistant that offers farmers quick access to agricultural information. Farmers can use it to get guidance on crop management, pest and disease control, weather conditions, market prices, and government schemes. The assistant is designed to provide timely information that can support day to day farming decisions.
Addressing Long Standing Farming Challenges
The launch comes as many farmers in Nagaland continue to deal with post harvest losses, limited storage facilities, and difficulties in reaching larger markets. According to the state government, the digital platform is expected to improve market linkages, reduce information gaps, and make agricultural services more accessible, especially in rural areas.
The platform also aims to build a digital database of farmers, helping departments deliver schemes more efficiently and improve planning based on reliable agricultural data.

The Nagaland Digital Agriculture Ecosystem combines AI, digital records, and data driven services in a single platform. Officials say this integrated approach can help strengthen extension services, improve transparency, and provide farmers with faster access to information they need throughout the crop season.
As more states adopt digital tools in agriculture, Nagaland’s latest initiative reflects a growing focus on using technology to improve farm productivity, connect farmers with markets, and simplify access to government support.
